COMPUTERS CAN BE REPLACED, THE DATA ON THEM CANNOT.

It is alarming to discover how many businesses simply do not look after their data properly.
we have found out that many systems are not being backed up properly, although user intentions are good, regular and reliable backups of their data
ARE NOT BEING DONE.
I cannot over emphasize how important it is to maintain reliable back ups of ALL your important data.

The FSA is introducing new legislation which requires that all insurance and mortgage advisers MUST take appropriate steps to securely retain all their records, be they paper or electronic.
2,900 Laptops, 1,300 PDA's and 62,000 mobiles are left in London taxies every
6 MONTHS
.
The Department of Trade and Industry is concerned that 7 out of 10 businesses suffering a major data loss are closing down within 18 months, 70% of the remainder fail within five years. They feel firms aren't doing enough to protect their data and will suffer the consequences unless they implement an effective backup system.
INSURANCE MAY REPLACE YOUR HARDWARE BUT DOES NOT REPLACE LOST INFORMATION.
REMEMBER - ONCE IT'S GONE - IT'S GONE FOREVER
Are you protecting your most valuable business asset?
What would happen if you lost all the data on your computer or network – backups and all?
Studies show how businesses that experience a catastrophic loss of computer data never fully recover. Our
Data Backup Solution
can help protect your business by backing up all your critical data automatically and store it securely OFF SITE. It's easy, the system is automatic, affordable and secure. No one can access your data, not even us. Your most valuable asset will always be safe, even if your computers are not.
Just think what would happen if on just ONE occasion you had a break-in or fire. Not very likely I hear you say, what about a power surge or a virus from the internet, to a computer they are even more dangerous.
The average small business values its computer data at between £10,000 and £20,000 and we have found in our own local studies that a staggering 95% of them have little or no data protection at all.
If just once during work hours there is a power surge or lightening strike,
your computer will fry
, computer systems can be replaced DATA CANNOT! Are you connected to the Internet, what will happen if you get a virus or worm from an Email, some of these can re-format your hard drive for you, others just corrupt data, the end result is the same, YOU LOOSE DATA!
Data is priceless. The loss of your data can put you out of business.
In an example case the consulting company, Newell & Associates had a disk drive crash only six months after it began trading. It took over five days to get a critical computer restored. Newell & Associates spent several months investigating all the alternatives and finally decided that the best backup system includes automated backups and Off Site Storage.
We recommend you back up your data daily, that you remove this backup from your computer, and preferably remove it from the premises
Depending on the amount of data involved we have various backup solutions and will help you evaluate your backup requirements. We can supply complete backup solutions that include removable media and software for single user pc's or networks. We will make recommendations based on your personal requirements, help write and implement your backup policy, and automate you systems if required. We can supply backup systems that can run at set times or continually monitor all systems and backup every time there is a change or new file created.
In addition to this very important service, as far as I am aware, we are the ONLY company that checks the integrity of backed up data by re-installing backed up data onto a clean computer. For instance, suppose you had a computer hard drive crash, (not that unusual an occurrence) you find that after making what you consider to be effective backups, when you need that backup it will not load back onto a new system or that not all the data you need has been backed up in the first place. Believe it or not, this scenario is not that uncommon.
If required we will also review, amend or write your
Data Security Policy
and ensuring automated/manual backups are completed for all your data.
1. Complete Data Security is achieved.
2. If required we will write, review or amend
and monitor
your backup policy.
3. Backups made on a daily basis and kept securely
Off Site
.
4. Up to Five copies of your data can be kept in case of virus infection of backups.
Did you know that if a virus or malicious worm invades your system, it can remain dormant for weeks and is often included in office backups before it activates. This means that even if you have maintained reliable backups, your backed up data is also infected. This is why we keep your last FIVE backups in archives so that if a virus is detected, we can roll back to the preceding week and retrieve the undamaged files or data, or at the very least give us time to repair the damage.
5. Relieving you and/or your staff from time consuming backup routines for more time efficient tasks.
6. Piece of mind.
Q: I already have a tape drive, and do my own backups. Why would I need this service?
A: Unfortunately, most small businesses DO NOT do proper backups even though they may have a tape drive. Some people think they are doing backups correctly, and then when they really need them, find out to their dismay that their backups are useless. Virtually no one takes their backups off-site and many people do not even remove them from their computer(s).
Q: Won’t you have access to my company records?
A: No. Your files are securely encrypted before they leave your office. Only you have the password. We cannot access your files.
Q: Can you back up my network?
A: Yes. Our system is fully network compatible.
Q: Do I have to leave my computer on all night?
A: No. The system is fully automated and picks up where it left off when the computer is started up again.
Q: What do I have to do? How much time will this take?
A: You don’t have to do anything; a computer technician will do all the work. We do recommend a minimum of daily incremental backups and if required we will set these up for you to be totally automated or if you prefer, setup for the user to complete at the end of each day.
Q: Will I have to buy any new equipment?
A: Your system will need to contain one or more of the following:
1. 1 Free USB Port
2. 1 CD/RW or DVD/RW Drive
3. 1 Free 10/100 network connection, either via a network or internally on computer requiring back-up.
4. 1 Free 5 1/4" computer bay
Q: Do you back-up the entire computer/hard drive.
A: No, only data files and anything specifically asked for. It is pointless backing up programs because they have to be “installed” thru Windows before they can work. This also keeps the amount of space needed down thus keeping costs down.
